Win 3 Months of Free Water — Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. CORRECT ANSWER TO A SKILL-TESTING QUESTION REQUIRED.

1. Sponsor

This contest is sponsored by [SPONSOR LEGAL NAME], [SPONSOR MAILING ADDRESS] ("the Sponsor").

2. Contest period

The contest opens at [START DATE AND TIME] and closes at [END DATE AND TIME] (America/Vancouver). Entries received outside this period are void.

3. Eligibility

Open to legal residents of British Columbia who have reached the age of majority (19) as of the date of entry.

Employees, directors and officers of the Sponsor, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, agencies and suppliers, and the immediate family members and household members of each, are not eligible to enter.

4. How to enter

(a) Online entry. Complete the entry form at https://www.h20togo.ca/win/ during the contest period. Limit one (1) base entry per person.

(b) Bonus entries. Additional entries may be earned by completing the optional actions shown after entry — following the Sponsor's social media accounts, tagging a friend in the comments of the Sponsor's contest post, or referring another person who completes a valid entry. Each such action is worth one (1) additional entry and may be claimed once. Referral entries are limited to 10 per entrant. Bonus entries are self-declared and subject to verification, and the Sponsor may disqualify entries it reasonably believes were not genuinely earned. Bonus entries are available to every entrant on the same terms, regardless of whether they entered online or by mail, and none of them requires a purchase.

(c) Free alternate method of entry (no purchase, no social media required). To enter without completing any online form, social media action or purchase, hand-print your full name, mailing address, daytime telephone number, email address, and an original 100-word essay describing why you value clean drinking water, on a plain piece of paper, and mail it in a sufficiently stamped envelope to:

[AMOE MAILING ADDRESS]

Limit one (1) mail-in entry per envelope and one (1) per person. Mail-in entries must be postmarked no later than the contest close date and received within seven (7) days thereafter.

A mail-in entry is placed in the same draw pool and carries exactly the same weight as the base entry received for an online entry. Mail-in entrants who provide an email address are sent a personal link giving them access to the same optional bonus actions described in paragraph (b), on the same terms. An entrant who completes those optional actions will hold more entries than one who does not, whichever way they entered. No purchase, payment or consideration of any kind is required to enter or to win.

The maximum number of entries any one person may hold is 15: one base entry, up to four from the optional follow and tag actions, and up to 10 referral entries.

(d) Marketing consent is not required. You do not need to consent to receive email or text messages from the Sponsor in order to enter or to win, and giving or withholding that consent has no effect whatsoever on your chances of winning.

(e) Reviews are not an entry method. The Sponsor does not award entries, credit, discounts or any other benefit in exchange for writing, posting or removing a review on Google, Facebook or any other platform, and will not do so.

5. Prize

There is one (1) prize available to be won: Three (3) months of free purified water refills. The approximate retail value is [APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE].

The prize is not transferable, may not be substituted for cash, and must be accepted as awarded. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable. The winner is responsible for any applicable taxes. The prize will be made available to the winner without undue delay and in any event within thirty (30) days of the winner being confirmed.

6. Odds of winning

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. An entrant who completes the optional bonus actions described in paragraph 4(b) holds more entries and therefore a proportionally greater chance of being selected. The prize is allocated across all participating British Columbia locations; there is no per-location allocation.

7. Draw and winner selection

On [DRAW DATE], one (1) entry will be selected at random by computerised random selection from among all eligible entries received. The Sponsor will notify the selected entrant at the email address given on entry, and, where a telephone number was provided and the entrant consented to text messages, by text message, within three (3) business days of the draw. Notification of selection is sent to every selected entrant regardless of whether they consented to receive marketing messages; consent to marketing has no bearing on entry, on the draw, or on being notified.

8. Skill-testing question

Before being declared a winner and before any prize is awarded, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided and within a limited time, a mathematical skill-testing question. The selected entrant must respond within seventy-two (72) hours of first notification.

If the selected entrant cannot be reached within that period, declines the prize, is found to be ineligible, fails to answer the skill-testing question correctly, or fails to return the declaration and release described below, that entrant forfeits all rights to the prize and an alternate entrant will be selected at random from the remaining eligible entries, excluding any entrant previously selected.

9. Declaration and release

The selected entrant may be required to sign and return a declaration of compliance with these rules and a release of liability in favour of the Sponsor within seven (7) days of being sent it.

10. Publicity

Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of the prize constitutes consent to the use of the winner's first name, city of residence and general likeness by the Sponsor for promotional purposes, without further compensation.

11. Personal information

Personal information collected on entry is used to administer this contest and is handled in accordance with the Sponsor's privacy policy at https://www.h20togo.ca/privacy-policy/. It is not used for marketing unless you have given separate, express consent, and it is not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

12. Consent to receive messages

If you tick the optional consent boxes, you are giving express consent for H20toGO to send you commercial electronic messages by email and/or text message about the VIP Club, member offers, new locations and contests. You may withdraw that consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, by replying STOP to any text message, or by contacting [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Our mailing address is [MAILING ADDRESS]. Message and data rates may apply to text messages.

13. General conditions

Entries that are incomplete, illegible, automated, forged, or submitted by any means not described in these rules are void. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or acts in a manner it reasonably considers to be unfair or disruptive.

The Sponsor reserves the right, subject to any required regulatory approval, to withdraw, amend or suspend this contest, or to amend these rules, in the event of any cause beyond its reasonable control that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the contest.

The Sponsor is not liable for lost, late, misdirected or undelivered entries or notifications, or for any technical failure of any kind.

14. Social media

This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc., Instagram, TikTok or Google. By entering, you release those platforms from any and all liability in connection with this contest.

15. Governing law

This contest is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and is void where prohibited by law.
